CVHS Key Club Hosts a Blanket Drive Benefiting Area Charities

Central Valley High School Key Club members led the effort to make over 270 blankets on December 11.

Six years ago, 30 Central Valley High School Key Club members made 25 blankets for charities, calling the blanket drive event “Warming Community Hearts”. Since then, the effort has snowballed…this year over 240 volunteers crafted more than 270 blankets for various community organizations. The CVHS Key Club was joined by Spokane Valley Kiwanis and Key Club members from PACE partners University High School and East Valley High School. Many parents, middle and elementary school students, and community members assisted with time and donations of materials.

All 271 blankets were donated to Sally’s House, Blessings Under the Bridge, and the Central Valley School District’s Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP).
CVHS’s Key Club has garnered international recognition for their efforts. The club received a $1250 grant from the Youth Opportunities Fund after being selected out of 120 other applicants. Way to show you care, CVHS!
