Gratitude and Respect

New PACE Partner Spokane Valley Fire Department recently helped East Valley’s Continuous Curriculum School students celebrate good character!

Battalion Chief Stan Cooke spoke to students during an all-school Awards Assembly about the PACE character traits of Gratitude and Respect. He told them “you have the power to take an ordinary day and make it extraordinary” for someone else. He said the two things people most want are to make a difference and to be appreciated. He encouraged the students to do this by “listening to others from your heart and have an attitude of gratitude.” He told them, “you are unique and you are powerful.”

SVFD Otis Orchards Station #4 crew members Greg Bennett, Joe Cushner and Brent Duprel joined Stan Cooke on stage to hand out the awards. SVFD Chief Cooke at CCS croped

Thank you CCS and SVFD for helping to Bring Character to Light!
