PACE Partner of the Month

The PACE Leadership Team would like to recognize
Freeman School District as the March PACE Partner of the Month!

Freeman consistently reinforces the trait of the month on exterior reader boards schools and bulletin boards in all three schools. Then, every month, Freeman recognizes elementary school students who have demonstrated the character trait of the month. In addition, middle and high school students are often honored at assemblies for demonstrating good character and receive “Scottie Dawg” treats.

When the district sends materials, flyers or newsletters home, PACE character traits are often included.
As a whole, Freeman seeks to find ways to incorporate PACE traits in all activities. For example, in March students were honored for diligence through a minutes read contest in conjunction with PACE partner KiDDS Dental. Also, Mrs. Romney’s class helped write letters to the troops to support the KiDDS Dental Candy Buy Back project.

Last year, the high school leadership class held both a food drive (collecting over 2000 pounds of food and 40 turkeys!) and hosted the 15 Days of Giving. The later consisted of collecting different items each week that support Freeman families and other organizations. The leadership teacher, Scott Moore reported students do not always initially understand the number of people in need in their community, but projects such as the “15 Days of Giving” really “opens up their eyes to the needs around them…they understand they can step up and help.”

This year, the leadership class will be collecting toys (new/slightly used) the first week (Nov 30 – Dec 4); Clothing/Coats (Dec 7 – 11); and Food (Dec 14 – 18).

Thank you Freeman for your continued support of PACE and for helping promote good character in our community.
