Teaching Integrity and Courage: An activity

What is courage, anyway? It might be the one PACE trait easily be described in several different ways. It can be putting oneself at risk to help others. Or never backing down when one knows they are ‘fighting the good fight’. Perhaps it is acting in a noble manner even when one isn’t sure on the outcome. Similarly, PACE defines it as showing integrity at all times, in spite of challenges. How would you define it? How would you show someone an example of courage? As a Tarheel grad, I’m a bit biased, but I think this is a great activity out of North Carolina (TarHeelStateTeacher.com) to help demonstrate courage. Let us know how this goes for your family, organization or classroom. Email us your results – maybe we will feature it on our Facebook page! (And Go Heels!)
